Introducing myself

As a  teenager I discovered the guitar at the age of 14. Through learning this instrument I have not only enjoyed playing the guitar but made lifelong friends, developed confidence, found an outlet for self expression and personal creativity.

I've performed in a wide variety of situations from Weddings  carnivals to big band jazz rock and blues and most recently a hip-hop funk band in the China White Club.

In 1997 whilst at college I decided to teach a friend to play the guitar for some extra cash towards my studies. The experience was life changing in that I found that the experience of helping someone develop their skills was more satisfying to me than even performing.

Since my first student  I've now had the privilege to teach over 1200 students to play. Not only have I enjoyed seeing each student learn skills on the guitar, I've also enjoyed seeing so many different people of different ages and backgrounds develop in themselves both a love of music and often develop in their wider life experience confidence and emotional expression.
